Black Pound Coin (BPC): The Web3 Economy's Next Big Thing
In the web3 era, black culture has found new forms of expression through art, gaming, entertainment, and events. The potential for blockchain’s influence on black culture is limitless and cannot be fully anticipated yet. The black pound coin (BPC) is a token designed to support and finance the future of black cultural innovations. It will be governed and constructed by the community and serve as a decentralized protocol layer for community-driven projects that will propel black culture forward into the metaverse.
The Black Pound Coin (BPC) FOUNDATION
The Black Pound Coin Foundation is the steward of the Black Pound Coin (BPC) and the Black Pound Network (BPN).
It is not an overseer, but the base layer on which BPC holders in the BPC DAO can build and collaborate. The Foundation facilitates decentralized and community-led governance and is designed to become more decentralized over time.
The Foundation is tasked with administering the decisions of the BPC DAO and is responsible for day-to-day administration, bookkeeping, project management, and other tasks that ensure the DAO community’s ideas have the support they need to become a reality. Its goal is to steward the growth and development of the BPC ecosystem in a fair and inclusive way.
The Foundation utilizes the Ecosystem Fund, which is controlled by a multi-sig wallet, to pay its expenses as directed by the BPC DAO and provides an infrastructure for BPC holders to collaborate through open and permissionless governance processes.
The Black Pound Coin DAO
The BPC DAO is essential to the success of the Black Pound Coin ecosystem because decentralized governance is necessary for managing a globally dispersed community.
The BPC Improvement Proposal Process (see Governance) allows BPC DAO members to make decisions about Ecosystem Fund allocations, governance rules, projects, partnerships, and more. Membership in the BPC DAO is open to all BPC holders.
The BPC Council
The Black Pound Coin Foundation’s Council serves as a special committee responsible for overseeing the administrators of the Foundation. At the direction of the BPC DAO members, the Council administers proposals and supports the community’s vision. The Council convenes to review proposals under BPC DAO rules that require administrative review.
